Online course for insomnia: A Mindful Way to Healthy Sleep
Dr Giselle Withers, one of our Clinical Psychologists, has developed a six-week online course for better sleep, called A Mindful Way to Healthy Sleep. If you have insomnia, this course will guide you every step of the way to learn the lifelong skills of mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi). The mindfulness training will help you learn how to slow down a busy mind and reduce stress and tension in daily life. The CBTi training will help you to change unhelpful behavioural habits and thinking patterns that interfere with sleep; and teach you how to calm the mind and body when you can’t sleep at night.
Each week you’ll need about 1-2 hours to watch a series of short videos, complete some written exercises, and practice the meditations. You’ll have access to all the resources you need, including meditation recordings and a course workbook to help you practice the skills needed to prevent chronic insomnia occurring again in the future.
