Anne Louise Thorbecke

Anne Louise is a clinical psychologist registrar, with a background working in community mental health. She has experience working with adults, ranging from young people to older adults from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds. Anne Louise has experience working with people who experience challenges including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, adult ASD and ADHD, grief and loss, personality disorders, interpersonal issues, self-esteem challenges, and substance use. She will work collaboratively with clients drawing on a range of evidence-based therapies, while also acknowledging social and cultural factors that influence mental health. Anne Louise practices from a strength-based perspective to create a warm and open space where clients can feel safe, validated and empowered.

Therapeutic frameworks Anne Louise works within include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy. Anne Louise approaches her therapeutic work from a trauma-informed perspective, and works to adapt therapy to suit the need of the individual.
